When Do Rags
Become Wipers?
Wipers
made from new mill ends, which are sanitized in our modern laundry, offer a
number of performance advantages over reclaimed rags. When considering
rags as a wiping tool for specific application, we believe washed wipers are
your best alternative.
The
John R. Lyman Company is proud of the 98 year tradition established in the field
of washed wipers. In our modern laundry with the combination of heat,
detergents, resin breakers and time, we are capable of achieving unparalleled
high quality and consistently absorbent wipers. By using only select
textile products and new mill ends, we ensure that our products are totally free
of foreign objects.
As raw
material moves through our production facility, wipers are sorted according to weight,
weave, fiber content, color, surface characteristics and size to ensure
consistent quality to correspond to the features required in specific wiping
applications.
In the
laundering phase, we adjust formulations to achieve the desired instantaneous
absorbency and "feel" of all wipers. Proper laundering and
sanitizing at high temperatures is also critical in eliminating infectious
material, which potentially poses a health and liability risk to users of
introducing contaminants to your manufacturing process resulting from fabric
finishes dissolved by solvents.
